Old Nubian term probably serving as an honorific title borne by prominent members of Nubian society (e.g. eparch of Nobadia or priest), but the meaning of the word is unknown; Browne and Ruffini resolve the abbreviation as 'ikshil of Douksi', where Douksi is an otherwise attested toponym, but there is no certainty about it (I. Banganarti 2, pp. 73–74 and 147–148)
